Brilliance

Life

As I was working today, I came up with a brilliant idea/project that I can carry through for both my summer internship and my job as a webmaster. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before, but as a really good friend of mine said: “inspiration is erratic.” Until I complete the project, I am not going to tell what it is about, but I was really excited about this idea!

Logic

Life

Okay, so I will say right up front, this is going to be more of a rant than anything. I have some pet peeves in life (just like everybody), but there are two major ones. The first is if one person undermines another person’s abilities. Just because I am a girl, it does not mean that I do not know how to do something, or that I cannot assemble furniture together, or that I cannot put together electronics.

Home Sweet Home

Life

I love being at home. :) There is a feeling of peace that continuously surrounds me while I am at home. As I lay here, I can soak in the sun and just feel so calm and relaxed. It really is such a nice feeling. This is one thing that I like about living in a small town: you can find a sense of serenity, which is something that is not always there in a bigger city.

UI Enhancements

Pardot

Since finishing the word wrap feature, I have mostly been doing some user interface (UI) enhancements. Here are the two biggest enhancements that I have made. I taught myself JavaScript in order to do this. Basically, someone will select certain options from the “Type” drop down menu, and when they are chosen, the “use-predefined values” checkbox is checked, which triggers the fragment below it to open. I must admit… it looks pretty cool in action, and I am quite proud of the fact that I got to learn a new language AND that it is a change that got through to production right away.

Summertime

Life

Wow! Where has the time gone? I cannot believe over half of summer has already passed. Time really does fly! Luckily, I have been able to do a lot this summer. I have been working on the content for the Women@CC website. I was going to be doing the design too, but another girl is taking over that. However, I think I am still the lead website administrator. It is coming along really nicely, and I have some more things to fix up, but overall, I think it will definitely be ready to go live by the time August hits.

Resume Upload

Website

I have finally put [my resume][1] onto my website. It is linked directly off the homepage. It will have its own place in the navigation bar, as soon as I have a little time to mess around with the CSS. But for now, it is finally up there for everybody to see! Sports

GO CELTICS!!!!!!!! :D They just won their 17th NBA Title on the 17th. Pretty exciting, isn’t it? :) Being from Boston is amazing, considering that it is just a sports-dominating area. It makes it a fun place to live. Let’s hope Wimbledon goes just as well for the favorites (go Federer!)!! :D In USTA news: after playing everybody in the league once, we are still leading the league and are in first place!

Lead the Charge

Sports

It is yet another day foooooooor… a sports update! :) And in the news today. Well, let’s get the bad news over with. Federer got killed in the final (1,3,0) by Nadal. I guess there will always be next year: he just needs to keep on believing (and hopefully someone will take out Nadal along the way, or he will figure out a way to beat Nadal on clay in a place he is undefeated).

For this week and the last one, I have been working on a feature that will allow people that use PI to wrap text when they send emails, if they wish. After 2 weeks of getting used to the code and getting a better feel for symfony, I have finally implemented the feature! The lead developer will now put the feature into production for use! I am so excited: my first very contribution!!

Game-Set-Match!

Sports

This summer, I am playing in a tennis league (doubles for Hannon Hill), and today, our corporate team won all 4 of the sets we played : 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, 6-2. The order of play was: Men’s Doubles Women’s Doubles Mixed Doubles (2) I played the Women’s Doubles and the first Mixed Doubles.
